HealthcareSigns.com.com is a leader in the signage industry, and it’s thanks to our amazing sign artisans! Our company employs an army of artisans working tirelessly in different departments, from vinyl, assembly, and laser to marketing & design, customer service, compliance, and sales.
One of these artisans is our national account manager, Dyta (Dee-ta) Kodirun. We asked Dyta to talk a little bit about herself, her passion for signs, and her other interests:
Q: Where are you originally from, and where do you live now?
Dyta: I grew up in the Washington, DC area. I just moved back to Chattanooga almost 2 years ago after living here for almost 10 years and then Detroit for 2 years.
Q: How long have you been in the sign industry, and/or with HealthcareSigns.com?
DK: I’ve been working for HealthcareSigns.com, and the signage industry in general, since September 2013. HealthcareSigns.com brought me into this world and I’m so grateful to have found my calling!
Q: What is the most rewarding part of your job?
DK: The most fulfilling part of my job is seeing our signs out in public and even on TV when a show is shooting at a hotel.
Q: What’s one thing many healthcare professionals don’t often know about signs?
DK: A lot of people in the healthcare industry don’t realize how detailed a sign can be and how many people work on the single sign. Many of our signs are handmade and go through several departments before they come to your property. Each sign is made with pride and love by our team, and they aren’t just pieces of acrylic slapped together.
Q: If you had unlimited money and could go anywhere for a week, where would you go and why?
DK: If I had the money to, I would travel up to the coast of the Arctic Bay. My favorite animal is the narwhal, and this is the only place that they live out in the wild.
Q: What advice would you give to someone looking to enter the signage biz?
DK: Details. Details. Details. Signs are all about the details. You can’t assume anything when it comes to material, color, compliancy, etc.
Q: Trade shows are back, so why should healthcare management consider attending?
DK: After being confined for over a year, we’ve missed seeing all of you, and I’m sure you’ve missed seeing us! Having the trade shows back helps to give everyone a sense of normalcy again.
Q: Outside of helping clients get the best signs ever, what do you enjoy doing?
DK: My favorite pastimes include putting together puzzles and going on walks/hikes with my dogs.
Q: What travel accessory can you not do without?
DK: I have to have my iPad. I would be lost without all of the entertainment, games, and movies I can download or watch directly on the plane.
Q: What was your best inflight experience?
DK: I was once one of 3 passengers on the plane, and the crew and flight attendants told us that we could sit wherever. It was nice not having to deal with a crowded space or noise from other passengers, and the flight turned out to be really thrilling, too! We flew through a lightning storm and at one point the lightning went through the plane! Best. Experience. Ever.
